That wiki page describes what I meant very well, as well as the "soft handover" system for cell phones. But is that possible in Opensim or not? I think I heard a few people yesterday saying the client might need to be modified as well to support this, although as far as I know the client only connects / disconnects to / from a sim whenever that sim tells it to, so this should be completely up to the server and possible to have compatible with any SL client in existence.

> Date: Fri, 19 Dec 2008 07:50:43 +0100
> From: homerhorwitz@googlemail.com
> To: opensim-dev@lists.berlios.de
> Subject: Re: [Opensim-dev] Idea for 100% smooth region crossing
>
> On Fri, Dec 19, 2008 at 7:08 AM, Lc <lcc1967@gmail.com> wrote:
> > i used to write the "soft handover like" wiki for a "better sim crossing"
> > but the wiki page is gone.
>
> - Open http://opensimulator.org
> - Search for "handover"
> - Click link: http://opensimulator.org/wiki/A_better_SimCrossing
>
> Wiki-pages usually don't "go" without heavy DB editing.
>
> Cheers,
> Homer
> _______________________________________________
> Opensim-dev mailing list
> Opensim-dev@lists.berlios.de
> https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/opensim-dev

Add maps and directions to your party Show them the way!
