Hi,<br><br>with a heavyweight like <a target="_blank" href="http://www.google.com/">Google</a> going 3D chat, you guys seem to be a bit <br>worried about the future of OpenSim.<br><br>Well, since the technical side of OpenSim is making good progress, it is <br>about time to start formulating a marketing strategy.<br><br>OpenSim has many advantages over SL (and other VWs):<br>- land/space cost only hardware-related, no provider fees, no license fees <br>(good for startups)<br>- possibility to create an open network of free grids, not regulated by <br>governing bodies<br>- possibility to create closed, themed grids for roleplay, or corporate <br>'intranet' grids<br>etc. etc.<br><br>Of course, OpenSim should not try to be everything at once but should rather <br>pick some promising target areas and support them<br>as best as we can so that there will be some nice showcases to publish.<br><br>I would love to participate in a 'marketing team'. The only issue
