In light of this and discussions based off this, I can't help but think of the future issues regarding this type of problem.<br>In some form, the OpenSim community needs to have some trademarks of their own, if not for branding purposes alone, <br>but for protection against greedy sabotaging Corporate interests that might see us as a viable threat to their commercail interests.<br><br>Not to mention this scenario:<br><br>Someone from the OpenSim community gets a bug up their rear and branches off, creates a product based off OpenSim, then doesn't want to see any competition.<br>So what this asshat could do, is sabotage the OpenSim project and take out their own trademarks/etc... against what we use for coined phrases/terms/etc...<br><br>If we don't create protections in this manner, we could forsee constant threat by actions like this as time goes on..<br><br>Just a thought,<br><br>CharlieO<br><br><blockquote><hr>From: ezekiel@daelindor.com<br>To: opensim-dev@lists.berlios.de<br>Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2008 14:55:36 +0100<br>Subject: [Opensim-dev] LindenLab tightens policy on Trademarks<br><br>
