Folks,

I've got contacted by someone very noble - they used the opensim and want to give back by contributing to the opensim clothing library (yay!).

This brings the question - how.

The only readily possible way is to make the online textures and require the users to assign those manually... but that probably won't scale.

I wonder whether we should have something like we do with the textures - but even bit more "drop-in" - have a directory on the filesystem, which could contain "packages" - each package being a folder or more, with items (in XML?) - and the ability to export the folder hierarchy out of opensim as a package.

Then there could be even independent "item libraries" which would be easily pluggable into the opensim setup (and possibly governed by the different licenses).

Thoughts ?

/d
