Hi Mike,
This is possible channel for some discussions
IRC is still our favorite channel for real time talk.
You can find us on the freenode irc network channel #opensim-dev.
Our mantis is the preferred way to report bugs, request features,
submit code contributions, etc
http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Submitting_code_to_OpenSim , ...)

Opensim Core members restriction to see TPVs sources is now over.
We have no immediate plans to move to Core, our next step will be
just move from .net4.0 to .net4.6.(2?)
As you well know Opensim code base is very different from halcyon,
different solutions for problems, its own problems and strengths.
Note that at the moment our dev branch is httptests, not master, and
it does target .net4.6

Thanks,
Ubit

Subject: [Opensim-dev] Introduction

Just want to introduce myself. I have been involved in OpenSim (in the form
of Halcyon, for InWorldz) for some time. I implemented the Mesh (LOD
calculations included) and Materials support, multiple attachments, Lots of
http enhancements (including https support which was never rolled out). In
Inworldz I am a Director in a virtual dance troop and we've been finding
issues with doing what we really would like to do in InWorldz do to issues
with the platform. I really want to continue to do the dance thing but we
need a platform that's stable for it. Halcyon has been destabilized over
time to a degree that I can't depend on it and its actually really important
to be able to get an audience for the shows. That leads me to OpenSim and
Hypergrid.

I'm going to be setting up a hypergrid connected grid for the purposes of
building up the dance troupe I mentioned. My intention is to port some of my
work from Halcyon over to OpenSim. Initially I'd like to make the
environment run in dotnet core/Rosalyn. I will probably look to port Phlox
sometime soon. Behind that some of the mesh and materials work I'd done.
I'll do this in a fork but absolutely make any changes I make public so they
can be incorporated into OpenSim proper if desired. I'd actually tried to
join Core years ago when there was a prohibition that you couldn't have
looked at viewer source. Unfortunately I had. If that's not true now and
I'd be welcomed into core I'd be happy to contribute directly.

Can I confirm that this is the appropriate place for dev contributions? If
not can you point me to where that's better done?

Thanks and have a great day!

Mike Dickson (virtually Mike Chase)
