Correct, just like in any domain-name-based identity/address system; for 
example if your email address was foo at acompany.com, and then that 
company -- and the domain name -- cease to exist, you will not receive 
emails sent to that address, even though people may still try to send to 
it. You can use the normal DNS redirections in order to keep that name 
valid.
