Diva is right. I was just wanting a simple DEFAULT string that works 
well out of the box, and that preferably distinguishes the 
standalone, grid and hypergrid modes to the user on login at the 
viewer level, where they may long ago have forgotten the loginuri 
(and port which suggests this).  I am assuming its not sensible to 
include a version number as we don't want to have to maintain such a 
change in the commits for the .ini.example files. Its a recipe for 
omissions to do that.  I appreciate that full version info is 
available via the help -> about menus for those needing it.

I do think though that three distinguishing messages, and a mention 
of the OpenSim platform is a good thing.. so let me try another suggestion
