[Opensim-dev] Ruth vs Gas Clouds: Bug or feature?

This falls into the category of "wishful thinking":
I'd rather see "clouds of gas" than some of the horribly-built furry
avatars I've seen. :) (I'd also like to see an option to force others
to become clouds of gas -- that is, stop getting their animation
updates and the clothing/prims they have attached.)
If that could be a parcel-settable option, you could even have more
than 70 people in a sim for an in-world event without bogging down the
bandwidth and CPU of the server. (Parcel sets which avatars are
visible, the rest become vague low-alpha 2D silhouettes.)
Aaaand I've been awake FAR too long. My apologies.
