Im sure it will add a few extra followers, but maybe not a huge amount

I like github, but 100MB per user is the standard free package, they
may up it for opensim tho.  Gitorious is open source, and hosts
identi.ca etc.

I think it may also be interesting if people start hosting ancilliary
code and assets that can hook onto the core.
