We're on the subset Mono 2.0.1 supports. As soon as 2.4 becomes standard, we may upgrade to 2.4 (which is fairly complete as far as 3.5 is concerned)
I believe HashSet is safe to use however. The buildbot on Panda is the ultimate arbiter - if it compiles there, it's safe to use.
