No this is false.

The Second Life client has supported two modes since OpenSim began - in one mode (caused by a login reply) it did not verify the bytecode, and just sent the text raw to the server. In the other mode, it sent compiled LSO plus raw text - OpenSim never used that latter mode. The recent patch has basically disabled the first which breaks the os* commands.
