Our mono gate has tended to be "what's shipping in current Ubuntu".
That's now 1.9.1 as of 2 weeks ago. If 1.9.1 can do it, then I'd say go
for it.
It might be handy for those of us that don't really know what this
changes if you could give some examples of new things this brings into play.
