[Opensim-dev] Stability & Memory issues

On another front, there are a couple of things about the operation of "Wright Plaza" that are quite puzzling and I suspect their solution will affect many sims on many grids. I use "Wright Plaza" as an example here as it is probably has the most traffic of all sims on all grids using OpenSim and is updated to the svn trunk at least once each day.

These two things are :

1. There are many times when regions must be started more then once. That is, they throw and exception and refuse to start. This is usually a master user UUID exception, but sometimes a timeout. It seems that finding those things which throw fatal exceptions is to our advantage.

2. I continue to observe that Wight Plaza may go for hours and consume modest memory, but, ... , when a few avatars are in there simultaneously and start chatting, the memory in the server is usually exhausted in two hours or less and the swapping lags out the sim to the point of unusability.
