There is a standard opensim process for these things:
* submit mantis
* discuss (length of discussion depending on level of controversy with
patch)
* look for testers of patch from mantis (especially if it isn't
entirely straight forward)
* decide if patch is ready
* apply if there is agreement it's ready
People in the community can personally commit themselves to anything
they like, but it doesn't mean they've committed the project to
anything. The project has a process, and the one time we started making
exceptions to that process, we ended up with a branch full of an
unmergable dump. So no one gets special treatment any more. :)
