I'm pretty sure you'll find (though I'd be interested if others disagree) that the BSD and GPL licenses really don't play nice togethor.

How content is licensed is a separate issue actually. One of the interesting things about SL was that they let you own the content you create. But that's separate from the license for the software used to access it. For instance while the viewer is GPL'd it can be used to access a proprietary system like SL or a BDS licensed system like OpenSIM.

Subject: [Opensim-dev] GPL-Sim and BSD-Sim

Hi,

Just wanted to get an idea on what the audience here feels about a GPL based Sim that is dual-licensed with a BSD based Sim.

I never knew "open" meant one had to decide between BSD or GPL.

I have been thinking about this on different levels and layers:
http://jira.dzonux.net:8080/browse/ATMX-7

Kids will want to play games and make games and have no time to read license content like BSDL or GPL. Well, maybe they have time to read the BSDL version.
