the only problem i really see is to do this its going to be a clear Linux /
Windows break in hows it is achieved.  This might be better suited as a
forge project.

any patches that required core changes though would be attached to a mantis

be sure to include any special instructions etc.. probably good to be on IRC
too to let someone know asap because these patches become stale very fast,
and also its good to be around incase something goes wrong once it is
applied.
