There's likely a correlation, because it's clear that the viewer pays 
attention to those details, at least for caps, and it is not very smart 
in processing them. When the external host name is given in dotted 
decimal notation, the OpenSim inconsistencies don't matter. They show up 
when it is given as a domain name, because half of OpenSim converts it, 
and the other half doesn't.

This is not to say that people should now switch to dotted decimals. We 
need to fix these problems in OpenSim so that this won't matter. So 
please, whoever uses domain names, please continue to do so. Now that 
the problem has been identified, it will eventually go away.
