There's also the viral nature GPL..     do we really want to have to
relicense our own clean room code under GPL because we looked at a GPL ap's
code?

Anyway..

I'm not a lawyer.. ..    so I'm going to shush now.   I think it would be
wise to either get a lawyer involved or just drop the subject.
