hehe, this made me laugh.

But seriously -- as a presently torpid opensim contributor -- I think it's great that someone like John is willing to put time into maintaining part of the system.  However, the issues brought up by the current devs need to be addressed.  A huge patch offered as a fait accompli serves as an impressive proof of concept, but I hope you won't be insulted if it is not embraced immediately as-is.

I'm sure something will get worked out.
