I'd suggest bringing the issues that we're having with the Mono Addins
system to the attention of the Mono devs.  There's at least two bugs
and/or enhancement requests that need to be filed and addressed on
this functionality before it can be truly useful in our environment
(inability to catch the messages, inability to scan/load assemblies
from anywhere other than the 'root' assembly).  At the very least,
they can probably give us a bit of insight as to what we can do to
best fit the mechanism.
