| Summary | 0000977: Neighbor's prims not sent to avatar for neighbors that start up while avatar is already there | ||||||||
| Description | This is an issue I am not 100% sure of, but I'd rather report it now then plan to test it later and forget about it and probably report it in months. When you log into a sim, you see the prims from all neighbors which have the flag see_into_this_sim_from_neighbor set to True in opensim.ini. If a neighbor with this option turned on starts up while you are logged in however (like crashing and then coming back up), you see the sim and its terrain appearing back up, but it doesn't send you its prims any more until you enter it or relog. In other words, the see_into_this_sim_from_neighbor flag appears to only work for neighbors which you already find online when you log in. Any neighbors that go down then come back up while you are already there seem to not send you their prims until you enter them. | ||||||||
| Steps To Reproduce | If you run your own sim and have neighbors, make sure the see_into_this_sim_from_neighbor is set to True in opensim.ini. Then, start your sim and log into it and go to a neighbor, or just log into one of your neighbors directly. After that, make sure your sim is down while sitting on your neighbor and then start it up. When the sim will pop up to you in-world, look if any of the prims on it will appear too when you get close to it but without crossing borders inside. | ||||||||

Try moving 40 meters in one direction in the sim that you're in after the neighbor comes up and post here if the prim in the neighbor appear after that. (it should). It's designed to start working once you move a certain distance from where you were before. |

Yes, it seems to have triggered them after I flied around for a few meters. I tried walking in place a little but it didn't do anything. This explains how another person seen them when even further away from me. |
