Summary | 0008835: [MAP] Npc are no longer displayed on the map
Description | I don't know if you have this too but with the latest version of Osgrid, I no longer see my npc on the map ... Even with the option ShowNPCs = true On the other hand I have a new yellow warning message which tells me: 09:43:45 - [EVENTQUEUE]: (Enqueue) No queue found for agent 60836116-dff9-4983-8249-f77127ca6da5 in region Digital Concepts This uuid is the uuid of my npc automatically created on each region start and which no longer appears on the map now. I don't know if all this is related but in any case I no longer see the npc on the map, that's for sure.

There is some iffy going on with these dots in general, but I can't quite figure out why. It seems they fail to update for a long time now until you teleport to the region. I know they are cached on both ends, but shouldn't that expire after 30+ minutes? Longest I have seen now was over 3 hours I saw 4 dots on a region that had been empty of avatars. It is not always like this, sometimes it does update as well. Though random it is quite frequent. I don't recall cache behavior being changed on this either so I wonder if the viewer did. For a test I would say maybe removing the cache on OpenSim side and giving updates to the viewer whenever queried, just to see what effect this has. |

Well the map is not the radar. I mean the map isn't dynamically updating as quickly as the radar is. The map uses MapRefresh=xxx and this is how I imagine it should be refreshed. It's the same for objects you add or remove from your region, you don't see the changes until MapRefresh runs. So I imagine that the npcs are drawn as green dots on the map tile and this would also allow them to be seen on the map page of our web map, which would obviously be cool |
