|Summary||0007854: ubODE does not support the Physics Shape Type drop-down in the build menu|
|Description||When running BulletSim and using FireStorm, there is a drop-down in the Build Dialog that allows you to change the Physics Shape Type of child prims. This is vitally important for decreasing the load that a build puts on the simulator by marking child prims as Physics Shape Type None. When you switch your physics engine to ubODE, this drop-down dissappears from the viewer build dialog!|
This is a vital function that must be supported by the physics engine.

I don’t know about the Firestorm menu as I don’t use it - but the function itself is supported.
I did load firestorm to see, and have attached a screen shot of the build menu function in firestorm. This is on a ubODE enabled region. The server is on Linux/mono and the viewer is running on Linux/64.

I see the usual menu same as in bulletsim. The menu is in the 'features' tab.
Not sure if this is the one you are referring to. 'Edit linked' will allow feature on children.
You can also do the following if you want to do the whole link set except the root:
Hope this helps, I expect you are referring to the 'menu function' itself, what does the firestorm support group say. Possibly a firestorm issue. Either way, the above should get you by for now.

This is more of a user issue than something that needs to be fixed in the server.
For an ubODE region if you just upload the mesh without specifying a physics model you only get the choice of Convex hull.
If you on upload from the physics menu select a model or upload one the Physics type of Prim becomes visible.
For regular prims the issue is somewhat different in that Bulletsim has optimized physics for many of the prims directly built into the physics engine, while ODE has not. This is not something that can be easily changed without major development on the ODE engine. Havok physics engine used in SecondLife has the same capabilities as Bulletsim.
I see the drop menu in regions with ubOde
if you just upload the mesh without specifying a physics model it just doesn't show the PRIM option. CONVEX and NULL are present
