|0007677||opensim||[GRID] Hypergrid||public||2015-08-11 13:06||2015-08-12 07:11|
|Product Version||master (dev code)|
|Target Version||Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0007677: Improved the usability from HG friend requests|
If an user is in HG and offers a friendship to another user or gets an friendship offer, this user MUST teleport back home to accept this friendship the second time.
Many users forget that wich results in inconsistent data in the remote grid and the local grid.
The remote grid knows you as friend, but your local grid not. This is NOT acceptable.
This patch fixes this problem with automatically accepting friendships in the local grid while you are in hypergrid.
This might also be used for bad conditions, but the usebility of this functionality must be weighted higher.

The confirmation is required for security reasons, otherwise one can write bots that inject friendships on remote grids.

Oh, yeah, i remember, thats why opensim dont go forward and stuck in beta since, when...?
Diva, do you even read the reasin for this patch?
I think you didn't because there is a config parameter to enable or disable it.
There must be a reason why many many devs of opensim are just... well... i'll stop here.
Oh, btw: who is stopping me writing a bad opensim region and hanging it into a grid, destroying the database? Oh, nobody?...
@Kubwa, you must have me confused with someone you know in order to use that kind of language. Weird what the Internet does to people.
Until we work with viewer devs in order to make it more user-friendly without compromising security, nothing goes into core OpenSim that compromises [even more] security of the Hypergrid. As for open grids like OSGrid, that's not my job to comment. I would never run a grid like that.
