Summary0007182: Updating an old My Suitcase to current, requires manual DB surgery.
DescriptionWhen the My Suitcase folder first came to be, it was just a single directory, with nothing in it. These days, it is supposed to be populated with a number of special sub-directories. My old avatars suitcase directories did not update to the new form and the only way I'd found to do it was to manually create all the sub-directories in the database. That's less than optimal. I'd been told that it should be set up on login or when away from my grid and trying to obtain an item. Neither of these methods worked for me (starting with both an empty My Suitcase and a cleared cache). What did work was a much simpler manual DB change - deleting the empty My Suitcase directory. Upon login, it was then recreated and fully populated with the required sub-directories. So, if you have NO My Suitcase, it'll be set up okay, but if you have one and it's empty, you're hosed - unless you have access to the DB to delete it. I think the system should detect if any of the required sub-directories are missing and, if so, [re-]create them as necessary, rather than require manual DB editing.
