Summary0006630: Set Home to here greyed out for avatar which has been set as region and estate owner
DescriptionWith a newly establish (test) grid on a single machine with MySQL 5.6.11, Robust.exe and OpenSim.exe all running on that single system... I cannot seem to be able to get the Viewer menu option to "Set Home to Here" which is greyed out for the avatar that is indicated as the region (and estate) owner. Avatars are newly created with new UUIDs in a fresh data base.

In test I created fresh avatars before the region was created, and even tried to create avatars via Diva's Wifi in advance. All show the same result.. the "Set Home to Here" being greyed out.
Steps To ReproduceCreate a fresh Robust.exe/OpenSim.exe setup and create an avatar in Robust.exe and then a region in OpenSim.exe. [Restart Server to make region available for logins due to a separate issue 6629]

Observe that "Set Home to Here" is greyed out for the owner avatar. See attached image.

I also noticed this today in OSgrid and another grid were I am running the OS from Wednesday's git. Create Landmark also does not work.

In both grids the regions and user are not newly created.

EDIT: The problem was introduced somewere between git 3ce198165c3533d416148a9f4ffa056bf22c602d and 543d1fe70b54fb26d7ce19b397468c66269f0e20

Do we have r/22xxx numbers for those Michelle so I can go back one earlier and test?

See: 0006633 for landmark creation issue, thanks

ed/update: The issue I see is unrelated to this, but is occurring when creating landmarks with V3.

I see Melanie made a commit on 2013-05-11 r/22713 which includes data base migrations which include fields for allow set home here and create landmark.

Rooting round a bit I see that the "fudge" to make the "Set Home to Here" and "Create Landmark" viewer menu items active were commented out in one of the Avination XEstate commits at r/22690 on 2013-05-06:

- // Fudge these to always on, so the menu options activate
- //
- flags |= RegionFlags.AllowLandmark;
- flags |= RegionFlags.AllowSetHome;

I assume the fixes in r/22713 probably now fix this without a fudge?

Yes, that looks like its the crimescene

And after looking at melanies changes and doing some testing, the following are also not working in the estate menu

- Allow Land Join/Deivade: RegionFlags.AllowParcelChanges
- Block Land show in search in the

I can confirm that Set Home to Here and Create Landmark now work in 0.7.6 Dev Master r/22714.

And Michelle, the region/estate options you mentioned all seem to have active tick boxes now.

Previously, OpenSim allowed anyone to set home anywhere. My commits of this morning change the way SetHome works to match what people know from SL:

(a) gods and land managers can set home
(b) land owners can set home
(c) members of the land-associated group in roles that can set home
(d) parcels with telehubs can be the home of anyone

The problem with that approach is that groups are not in core. So a lot of avatars may have trouble setting home, including the preset avatars.

A way to allow anyone to set home on all regions in an OpenSim.exe instance would help.. with an appropriate OpenSim.ini parameter... sort of a region(s) group into which anyone is already in.

I will set up a telehub on a suitable welcome region as a test though, to provide an intial home position for avatars. I thought telehubs were at region level rather than per parcel...

Ah yes... so they are now :-)

I seem to recall an old OpenSim.ini setting to allow home to be set anywhere.. but cannot see it in any of the example.ini files.. but that is what I had in mind as an extra option to allow for avatars to set home.

Meanwhile I have set up a telehub on our welcome region on the new grid I am preparing to allow for the new SL style home position setting commits. Thanks Diva.
