Summary0006414: HG2.0 My Suitcase attachments repeat once per foreign grid region visit
DescriptionWhen an avatar from one grid (Openvue) visits a region on another grid (OSGrid) a popup appears to say "The item was placed in My Suitcase". In fact every attachment for the avatar is placed in My Suitcase. That seems understandable. But I note that when I then went to a second region on the same HG trip, a SECOND copy of every attachment went into My Suitcase again. Then when I went back to the original visited region, a third copy went in My Suitcase... and so on.
Steps To ReproduceVisit a foreign grid, move to a second region on that grid and back, and observe 3 copies of the attachments worn have been placed in My Suitcase.
Additional InformationOSGrid regions are on last regular OSGrid add on region version (OpenSim 0.7.5 Dev OSgrid 0.7.5 (Dev) 36bfd36: 2012-10-23 (Win/.NET)).

Openvue regions are on r/20937 of 9-Nov-2012.

I note that when I returned to my home grid (Openvue) after a couple of tests in which I went back and forth between 2 foreign grid regions (OSGrid) 7 times I had 7 copies of each attachment except for some reason the hair attachment, for which there were only 2 copies.

Which region in OSGrid did you test this on?

I was moving between Vue-3200 and Vue-6400 Diva - both add on regions to OSGrid using the last OSGrid release (OpenSim 0.7.5 Dev OSgrid 0.7.5 (Dev) 36bfd36: 2012-10-23 (Win/.NET))). So a pretty typical destination for travellers and HG1.5 enabled.

The "home" avatar was from Openvue grid on latest OpenSim r/20937 (9-Nov-2012) and I believe correctly configured for HG2.0.

hmm, can't repro.
Are you detaching your attachments or something?

No, no action at all. I just travelled to region and moved between two regions. Not even opening my inventory window most times.. which is why I did not at first spot that the hair only copied twice, but other three attachments copied on every region visit, even for same region revisted. But I see from my original snapshot that this had already happened when I took that after three repeats. See the images.

Also, did you intend that the My Suitcase had a copy of the standard folders even though empty and unused on travel? Its no problem, but does make for a more complicated inventory.

Don't know. Maybe something wrong in your configs. This would happen if the objects were not allowed to go out of your grid. Check OutboundPermission

And yes, the system folders are intentional.

The OutboundPermission in config-include/GridCommon.ini is the default - i.e. commented out... so its permissive Diva...

;; If you want to protect your assets from being copied by foreign visitors
;; uncomment the next line. You may want to do this on sims that have licensed content.
    ; OutboundPermission = False

It looks like the attachments are being detached and attached again. I don't know what would make this happen.
Let's wait for others to report similar behavior. As is, I can't reproduce this, so I can't fix it.

Okay... I will watch for this and related symptoms and report if I can see any more helpful pattern. It could be that experimenting with inventory CAPs as suggested by Justin might be causing the problem... so best to let things settle down... [^]
