Summary0006399: BulletSim: riding a complex vehicle causes heartbeat timeout error
DescriptionWhen getting on Nebadon's "OKC Racer v0.186X (super-lite)" vehicle, there is a long pause (several seconds) before the vehicle becomes physical and occasionally a heartbeat timeout message comes out on the console. The simulator and physics frame rate will drop but eventually (>10 seconds) recover. This pause is less for simpler vehicles.

Logging shows that after the vehicle compound shape is added to Bullet, the first few Bullet simulation steps take a LONG time (several seconds). What the heck is Bullet doing?
