Summary0006048: Child prim(s) when set phantom, affect every prim in the linkset including root
DescriptionWhen a link message is sent to a child prim to set it's status to phantom, the entire linkset is also set to phantom.
Steps To ReproduceCreate 3 prims, 1 as a controller cube, and 2 flat cubes, link flat cubes to controller cube, using controller cube as root prim, place a script using llMessageLinked in the controller cube to send a message to one of the 2 flat cubes to change it's status to phantom,

Ideally, any status changes to a child prim should not affect any other prim regardless of the other prim's status.

Only the phantom status is affected like this, using llSetStatus(STATUS_PHANTOM, TRUE);

llSetAlpha(1.0, ALL_SIDES); does in fact only affect the child prim the script is in, but prim status affects all prims in a linkset.

I don't want to have to unlink every prim that uses a status change, just to use listen events, as too many listen events can lag a sim.
Additional InformationExample script:

// Controller

integer Shield = 4; // Link Number
integer Is_Active = FALSE;

touch_start(integer tot_num)
if (Is_Active)
llMessageLinked(Shield, 0, "close", NULL_KEY);
Is_Active = FALSE;
if (!Is_Active)
llMessageLinked(Shield, 0, "open", NULL_KEY);
Is_Active = TRUE;

// Shield Prim

link_message(integer sent_num, integer numb, string msg, key id)
if (msg == "open") llSetStatus(STATUS_PHANTOM, TRUE);
if (msg == "close") llSetStatus(STATUS_PHANTOM, FALSE);

Last I checked the prim flags are for the whole linkset not individual prims hence the phantom flag is applied to all prims in a linkset. Just like you cannot make a specific child prim phantom through the edit menu.
