| Summary | 0006047: Terrain is 'wavy' or 'wrinkled' when loading a terrain file. | |||||||||
| Description | When using terrain load <filename>.png, no matter what method used, terrain always has small wrinkles across entire region. Best description could be small rumples in a blanket or ripples on a pond effect across the surface of the terrain. | |||||||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Create any terrain.png file using any method. I have used L3DT to export heightmap and use directly, edit in Photoshop using blur tool, same result. Created new image using 'render clouds' method for random smooth terrain. Also attempted bluring these already smoothed images even more. Using either or other methods, import terrain using the 'terrain load <filename>.png' command at console | |||||||||

Able to reproduce with many different options, image types, bit depths, etc. However I am able to get a smooth terrain using L3DT direct export to .r32 only. Open discussion reveals that some others have this issue however most do not appear to have this issue. Change status to minor, dev may want to close issue entirely. I am uncertain of the extent of the issue at this time. |
