Summary0005109: Damaged child prim positions of attachments
DescriptionChild prim positions get damaged, if the position of the root prim of an attachment is edited, while this attachment is worn. This error can be seen as soon as the attachment is detached and attached again. Often the child prims are suddenly somewhere far away (also when the attachment is rezzed on the ground). In one case my avatar even became invisible wearing such a damaged attachment.

How to reproduce the bug:
- create two prims and link them
- take that object and wear it
(for example attach it to the skull)
- then edit the attachment while it is worn
- select Tools > Edit Linked Parts
- select the root prim and move it
- detach and reattach the object

Experiencing similar problems with shoes - including the avatar invisibility part - on Ubuntu Linux 32-bit, Git hash 80f90229e514075ae8b0c8a38da58e1300780478, Mono 2.6.7, grid mode (OSGrid).

When the broken attachment was rezzed on the ground and measured, the pieces were >300m apart!

Workaround: never edit linked parts of an linked set attachment while it is attached to avatar.

Instead, use a posing stand. Rezz the object linked set, and position it into place at the desired location on your avatar. Unlink the prims. Edit and re-adjust the prims. Link the prims again. Save to your inventory. Wear/attach the linked prim set, and position it to the same location while attached.
