Reason: If you add a prim to a current build and want it to be the same texture as the build, you have to manually look for that texture. When you select a prim's texture, it goes to the folder and that particular texture. Then if you select the raw plywood prim, it defaults to the library's plywood texture instead of staying in the folder of the texture you really want to change it to. 1) Create 2 prims and texture one of them 2) Edit the textured prim and go to the texture in the texture pick window 3) next, still in the pick window, switch to the raw plywood cube. Instead of staying on the texture you want....it switches to the default plywood texture Without the default plywood texture, you are able to easily select currently applied textures to raw prims without manually going looking for them. |

SL doesn't have their raw plywood texture in their library and it works great selecting currently textured prims. Tested with both hippo and SLviewer: Seems textures are the biggest assets in inventory. Removing the plywood texture will only help search for what builders want to use. |

Well, I'd +1 this as far as moving it from the library.. It's a usability issue with it in the library. I'd still want to keep it in the asset library, however. |

The question is...does the user have the option to delete this texture? This will stop it from going to that particular folder when selecting a raw prim. |

idb committed related code in r9212 Remove the default plywood texture from the library. Its presence can cause usability problems when selecting textures. The texture is still in assets and can still be applied using the "Default" button or by uuid from scripts. The removal may not shown up until after clearing the cache.
