Summary0002732: Change in logging request (and/or adding settings)?
DescriptionAs per recommendation I changed my OpenSim.ini for every instance on every server with regards to the (dis)allowance of scripts when TP to the region.
When checking the logs I noticed the following lines:
2008-11-30 23:55:54,009 DEBUG - OpenSim.Region.Environment.Modules.World.Permissions.PermissionsModule [PERMISSIONS]: allowed_script_creators All
2008-11-30 23:55:54,009 DEBUG - OpenSim.Region.Environment.Modules.World.Permissions.PermissionsModule [PERMISSIONS]: allowed_script_editors All
2008-11-30 23:55:54,010 DEBUG - OpenSim.Region.Environment.Modules.World.Permissions.PermissionsModule [PERMISSIONS]: Enabling all region service permission checks
---8< snip >8---

Shouldn't there be a similar setting for the DefaultPermissionsModule?

Additional InformationSettings in OpenSim.ini:
---8< snip >8---
; Region crossing
; as of r7543
AllowScriptCrossing = false
; If you set this to "true", any region that can teleport to you can
; inject ARBITRARY BINARY CODE into your system. Use at your own risk.
; YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
TrustBinaries = false
---8< snip >8---
permissionmodules = "DefaultPermissionsModule"
serverside_object_permissions = true
---8< snip >8---

I'm not sure quite what you're getting at, Dutchie.

Oops, I mixed two thoughts into one.

One thought is that if code can be run after a TP (probably through an attachment, if I understood the issue correct), wouldn't it be easier to have this as part of the DefaultPermissionsModule (since the logging reports that ALL script creators are allowed). Unless I misunderstand the concept of creator in this sense.

The second thought was that it might be handy to have a line in the log stating the status of the parameters AllowScriptCrossing and TrustBinaries.

These two thoughts sound like feature requests.
If that's what they are they should be moved to the features request list and the mantis closed
