Blue, could you please upload *both* OpenSim.ini so that I can see what you have there.

The linking instance is part of a local grid with UGAIM on the same machine, the linkee instance is for some regions on OSGrid

Blue, looks like you have this:

-- On the linker instance: http_listener_port = 9300

-- On the linkee instance: http_listener_port = 9000

So the command you want to issue on the linker machine is:
link-region 2308 2307 ascent.bluewallgroup.com 9000 <------ (you had 9006)

Let me know if this solves the problem.

Did indeed :) I misunderstood, as 9006 is the port I define in the region file that I was trying to link.

this brings up a question, Is there a way to define the region that will be the landing point in multi-region instances?

I had that at some point, but decided to take it out. When you give it a domain + port, it links to the "CurrentOrFirstScene" on that instance.

I may put it back, if people want. It's just me being lazy about processing the arguments on the command line... :-)
