0003792: Cannot change path cut on child prims within a linkset
Attempting to change the path cut of a child prim within a linkset fails. It appears to change while editing, but after leaving edit mode it will revert to its original path cut values.

On the other hand, attempting to change the path cut of the root prim of a linkset succeeds.

To reproduce:
(1) Create a box.
(2) Shift-copy it upwards, above the original box.
(3) Link the two together, with the bottom box as the root.
(4) Edit linked parts, and select the child prim (upper box).
(5) Attempt to change the path cut of the box to B=0.000, E=0.500.
(6) Leave edit mode.
The child prim reverts to its original box shape.

If you repeat the above steps, but instead select the root prim (lower box), the path cut change will persist upon leaving edit mode.

The obvious workaround is to unlink the individual prim, change the path cut, then relink (which now seems to be a viable option since relinking no longer messes up the rotation of child prims). However, it would be nice to see this fixed.

I have verified that the same thing happens when trying to change building block type, hollow, dimple or twist, and I suspect that it also does not persist other object properties for child prims of a linkset.

I know this is an old entry, but it still seems to be happening as of opensim master dated feb 21.
