When we speak about music in OpenSimulator, this is all about streaming sound to the viewer via the parcel Music URL. This is often called radio and is also the realm of DJing.

Music is different from sounds which are, in OpenSim terminology, short sound clips played from prims with a script. For sounds, see Sounds_(Content_Creation)
