I am not an expert with MySQL, but from the [http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/server-system-variables.html documentation] I get that there might be a few issues with the configuration example:
* On Windows, there is a range limit for "wait_timeout" of 2147483. Hence, the example won't work in that environment.
* There is no system variable "open-files" but only one named "open-files-limit"
* There is no system variable "max_connection" but only one named "max_connections"
Furthermore, in the text are only timeouts mentioned, yet the configuration also includes settings for files and connections. Why is that?
